004: the bianca watches the closing ceremony [Aug. 24th, 2008|07:51 pm]
Hurricane season & atheletes ages aside: as I'm watching the Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics I really just cannot help but admire the fact that all of the athletes (winners & not quite winners) were there. That had to be so cool.

I love the pagentry of the ceremonies, I watch the opening and closing ceremonies every time they happen, because they're just so pretty in that over the top way. Lip-synching and too much spandex aside.

003. [Aug. 11th, 2008|01:28 pm]
So since I'm a bit sunburned from a weekend of hanging out and giving walks to the elderly (plus there was that football game on Sunday) I think tonight is a night to just chill.

Anyone up for watching a few episodes of The West Wing and ordering some Chinese food? The TV show is negotiable, but the food is not. I think I'm craving the sodium.

the bianca considers some nicer fair. [Aug. 5th, 2008|01:01 am]
Maybe a fundraiser should be held to educate Harold people on the effects of sun-poisoning or too much sun. Perhaps it could also be to raise money for his melonoma treatments as well?

Or at least to pay for the alcohol scrub to remove all that bronzer.

the bianca rescues some lonely looking school supplies. [Jul. 29th, 2008|07:08 am]
I cannot believe that the first day of classes is so close! I'm really excited and I hope that everyone had a fun and interesting summer (even those of you who got stuck working, like I did). I have already hit up Target and stocked up enough non-Toxic glue, glitter, magic markers and the works to get me through at least September.

Hopefully.

While I was there I was struck with a brilliant idea for the perfect back-to-school volunteering, donation drive: a school supply drive! I still have to think through the logistics of where everything would be donated to, but doesn't that just sound perfect? There are tons of kids who have to go to school every year all over the world and they don't have enough money to afford pencils. This is the best way to share the wealth (literally!).

Any suggestions for ways to do this or places to donate would be much appreciated and to all the incoming freshman: Welcome to Kingdom!
